Welcome to the Axela Inc. website. We hope you will find the site informative and insightful whether you are a Customer, an Investor, a Clinical Partner or discovering Axela for the first time. If you are looking for a better way to conduct protein detection, characterization or monitoring, Axela’s dotLab System provides you with a unique platform on which to conduct your discoveries.
2008 was an exciting year for us as we made significant progress in the commercialization of our dotLab® System. Our North American partnership with VWR a leader in the research laboratory industry successfully makes our products available to the $20B protein research industry. VWR’s deep sales channel provides Axela with excellent access to their principal customers in research institutes, governmental agencies, chemical technology and the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
We continue to demonstrate our commitment to discovery and clinical researchers looking to advance novel discoveries which improve the diagnosis and treatment of disease. We have two new sponsor-funded clinical trials underway studying biomarkers in cardiac disease and brain injury.
In October 2008, we were recognized as one of Canada’s top 10 Life Science companies for 2008-2009 by the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) and Borden Ladner Gervais.
The Team at Axela will continue to work hard developing products which provide life sciences and clinical researchers with the tools and reagents they need to study interactions, expand the utility of traditional immunoassays and allow easy access to clinical markers. Today we have successfully commercialized the dotLab System and a suite of dotReady Reagents and dotReady Products. We will continue our commitment to sell to and collaborate with researchers building a robust diagnostic pipeline and enhance our existing product line.
