Dr. Bruce P. Neri
Dr. Neri received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 1972 and spent
two years as a post-doc in clinical chemistry at Medical Laboratory Associates
in Birmingham, AL. From there he managed a large clinical chemistry laboratory in
Louisville, KY, before joining Abbott Laboratories and advancing to the position
of section head of clinical chemistry. Dr. Neri then joined Instrumentation Laboratories
where he became Director of R&D. Since leaving Instrumentation Laboratories, He has been
VP of R&D for Gene-Trak Systems and Becton Dickinson Diagnostic Division where the focus
of both assignments was in the development of high sensitivity DNA diagnostics. He served
as the Senior VP of R&D for Third Wave Technology and aided in the development of the
Invader technology. A specialty pharmaceutical company, Prometheus Laboratories Inc., recently
appointed Bruce Neri as vice president of diagnostics research and development. Dr. Neri
has over 40 publications and 10 patents all in the area of in-vitro diagnostics and life science.
