Software
Operating Ziplex is easy. Choose "Perform Run" from the main menu (Figure 3) and then enter essential information such as the type of assay ("Run Protocol") and information about the samples in the "Run Setup" menu (Figure 4). Ziplex is pre-loaded with the information required to process the samples and to interpret the results of any particular assay type. At the end of the run, the results are exported by choosing "Export Data" from the main menu.
Ziplex automatically acquires images of the chemiluminescent signals on the TipChip probes. Multiple exposures are acquired of each TipChip to enable quantification over a large dynamic range. The embedded software automatically analyzes the images, quality controls the data, quantifies signal intensities, averages replicates of each probe, and outputs comma-delimited tables of relative target quantities along with basic statistical and quality control information. The exported tables can be viewed and further analyzed with Excel or other standard analytical tools.
